Coronation Street Star Millie Gibson Departs After Three Years
Gibson played Kelly Neelan, the daughter of the late Rick Neelan.
It has been confirmed that Coronation Street star Millie Gibson is leaving her role as Kelly Neelan after three years.
Gibson, 18, joined the cast of the ITV soap opera in June 2019.
She has become a fan favorite for her portrayal of the troubled teen, who has faced a number of challenges during her time on the cobbles.
Gibson is the latest in a long line of young actors to leave Coronation Street in recent years.
Others to have departed include Lucy Fallon, who played Bethany Platt, and Jack P. Shepherd, who plays David Platt.
Gibson has not yet revealed her reasons for leaving Coronation Street, but she has hinted in a farewell message that it may just be goodbye for now.
"It's been an incredible three years," she said.
"I've made friends for life, and I'll never forget my time on the show.
But I'm excited for the future and what it holds.
Who knows, one day I might be back."
